Elon Musk intends to transform X into a video platform akin to YouTube: the similarity is clear

Elon Musk, the owner of X, has revealed that the platform’s interface will resemble that of YouTube TV, with similar tabs for Home, Search, and Profile Pages. The company aims to make the platform versatile, offering audio, video, messaging, and payment capabilities. In response to Google’s dominance in the streaming video platform sector, X is preparing a new application for Amazon and Samsung smart TVs.

YouTube TV is a subscription service that allows users to watch live television from popular broadcasters and cable channels in English and Spanish. However, it is currently only available in the United States. A source close to X revealed plans for launching an application with long-form videos up to two hours in length to position itself in the streaming video platform sector.

A preview of the new application’s design was provided by an application researcher and web developer. The main interface closely resembles that of YouTube TV and includes a login screen, Home, Search, and Profile Pages tabs. The platform will offer both long-form videos and Shorts as well as filters for recommended content and trending videos.
