The 2024 Men’s Basketball Transfer Portal, sponsored by Three Notch’d Brewing, is in full swing for the offseason. With graduations and coach Mark Byington’s departure, the JMU men’s basketball team is expected to focus on the transfer portal for player additions. In terms of departures, Terrence Edwards, the 2023-24 Sun Belt Player of the Year, is considering testing the NBA waters after averaging 17.2 points per game for the Dukes. Another departure is sophomore guard Xavier Brown, who showcased his scoring abilities during the Sun Belt Championship game. Additionally, Jaylen Carey, a big man with high potential, has also entered the transfer portal.
