Building a Greener Future for Yampa Valley: Supporting the Growth of the Green Business Community with Hands-on Workshops and Office Hours

Workshop on Sustainable Practices in Business to be Held in Northwest Colorado this Week

The Yampa Valley Sustainability Council and Steamboat Springs Chamber are hosting the second installment of their “Business Leadership for Climate” workshop series on Wednesday. This event is aimed at local business owners and organizations, and will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Routt County Health and Human Services Community Room in Steamboat Springs.

During the workshop, attendees will learn about the benefits of state-level recognition through the Colorado Green Business Network and how to achieve bronze-level certification within the first year. The organizers will provide comprehensive knowledge about the green business program, guidance on the recognition application process, and tips on accumulating points toward certification.

The goal of this event is to support the growth of the Yampa Valley green business community and facilitate discussions about green business opportunities and challenges. Lunch will be provided by Hypnotic Chicken, with energy bars from Bar-U-Eat. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required through TicketTailor.com/events/yampavallleysustainabilitycouncil/1144591.

For those unable to attend the workshop, there will be office hours at Bud Werner Memorial Library Coffee Bar on the last Wednesday of every month from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m., where attendees can drop by for coffee, snacks, and answers to their questions without an RSVP necessary
